Introduction

Design Unblocked ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Design Unblocked mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our App.

By downloading or using Design Unblocked, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Design Unblocked experience. Here is a full breakdown of what we may collect:

Information You Provide Directly

• Uploaded Images: When you photograph or upload your completed design work as part of a session, that image is stored locally on your device and optionally backed up to your personal account if you enable cloud sync.
• Session Reflections: Any optional notes or reflections you write per logbook entry are stored locally on your device.
• Account Information (if applicable): If a future version of the App introduces accounts, we may collect your email address and display name solely for authentication purposes.

Session Data Stored Locally

• Difficulty level selected per session (Easy, Normal, or Hard)
• Prompt received during a session
• Constraint received during a session
• Time limit for the session
• Actual time taken to complete the session
• Date and time of each session

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: We may collect anonymized device type and operating system version solely for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
• Crash Reports: If the App crashes, anonymized diagnostic data (stack traces, device type, OS version) may be collected to help us identify and fix bugs. No personal information is included in crash reports.
• Usage Analytics (Anonymized): We may collect aggregated, anonymized usage statistics — such as which screens are visited most often — to improve the App experience. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name (unless you create an account)
• Your location or GPS data
• Your contacts or address book
• Your camera roll beyond images you explicitly choose to upload
• Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
• Biometric data of any kind

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes only:

• To provide the App's core functionality — storing your session history in the Logbook, displaying past prompts, constraints, and uploaded work.
• To improve the App — using anonymized, aggregated analytics and crash reports to fix bugs, improve performance, and enhance features.
• To communicate with you — if you contact us for support, we may use your contact information to respond. We will not use this for marketing without your explicit consent.
• To maintain security — protecting the integrity of the App and detecting or preventing fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

Data Storage & Security

All session data — including your Logbook entries, prompts, constraints, and uploaded images — is stored locally on your device by default. We do not transmit this data to our servers unless you explicitly enable a cloud sync or backup feature (if available).

We take reasonable and appropriate technical measures to protect any data we do handle against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

• Encryption of any data transmitted between the App and our servers (TLS/HTTPS)
• Encrypted storage for any server-side data associated with your account
• Regular security audits and dependency updates
• Strict access controls limiting which team members can access user data

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong device passcode and keep your operating system up to date.

User-Generated Content

Design Unblocked allows you to photograph or upload images of your completed design work to save alongside your session entry in the Logbook. Here is how we handle that content:

• Local storage: By default, uploaded images are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
• No content review: We do not view, scan, or review locally stored images. Your creative work is private.
• Your ownership: You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights to any images you upload. Design Unblocked claims no rights over your creative work.
• Deletion: You can delete any Logbook entry and its associated image at any time from within the App. Upon deletion, the data is removed from your device.
• Cloud sync (future feature): If we introduce an optional cloud backup feature, your content will only be uploaded with your explicit permission, and you will be clearly informed of where and how it is stored.

Third-Party Services

Design Unblocked may use limited third-party services to support the App's operation. We carefully select partners who maintain appropriate data protection standards. Current or potential third-party services include:

• Crash Reporting (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics): Anonymized crash data to help us identify and resolve bugs. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Analytics (e.g., Firebase Analytics): Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns. Analytics data is configured with IP anonymization enabled and does not include personally identifiable information.

We do not integrate advertising networks, data brokers, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party service that profiles users for commercial purposes.

Each third-party service we use has its own privacy policy governing their data handling practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services.

Children's Privacy

Design Unblocked is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions, such as the European Union).

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through our App, please contact us immediately at the address listed in Section 11. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our records.

Design Unblocked does not knowingly direct marketing to children, and the App does not contain advertising. The creative prompts and content within the App are designed to be appropriate for teen and adult audiences.

Your Rights & Choices

We believe you should be in control of your own data. Here is what you can do:

Within the App

• Delete individual entries: Remove any specific Logbook entry, including its associated image and session data, at any time from within the App.
• Clear all data: Reset the App entirely to remove all locally stored Logbook history and settings.
• Opt out of analytics: If available in your version of the App, you may disable anonymized analytics collection in the App settings.

For Users in the EEA, UK, and California

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law, including:

• Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to data portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Right to object: Object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
• Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 11. We will respond to all verifiable requests within 30 days.

Data Retention

Because the vast majority of Design Unblocked's data is stored locally on your device, you control retention directly. Data remains on your device until you delete it through the App or uninstall the App.

For any data we do hold on our servers (such as anonymized crash and analytics reports), we retain that data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, typically no longer than 24 months. After that period, data is either deleted or further anonymized.

If you contact us for support and provide personal information (such as your email address), we retain that correspondence for up to 12 months after the matter is resolved, after which it is deleted.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Post a notice within the App for significant changes
• Where required by law, obtain your consent before implementing material changes that affect how we use your personal information

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed. Your continued use of Design Unblocked after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
